Man Charged in Six-Vehicle Interstate Pileup

Police here say a 32-year-old Vancleave man has been charged with driving under the influence after he drove into people and cars stopped on Interstate 110 because of an accident.

Lt. Terry Hines says Hutto drove into several vehicles stopped on the interstate after they were involved in a minor accident.

Two of the five people injured in the crash were assisting other drivers and the other three were still in their vehicles, he said. One person was pinned under Hutto's vehicle and the other was hit by one of the vehicles Hutto hit., he said.

The five victims were taken to hospitals and three of them were in serious condition, he said.

The Sun Herald reports that Thomas Hutto, 32, was charged with three felony counts of driving under the influence.
