Amtrak's City of New Orleans (Chicago to New Orleans) stops in Greenwood, Jackson and several other western Mississippi cities. The Crescent (New York to New Orleans) serves the state's south eastern corridor, including Meridian, Laurel, Hattiesburg and Picayune. Both trains travel daily to New Orleans to connect the Amtrak's westbound service on the Sunset Limited (New Orleans to Los Angeles).
