Marriage Records

Marriage Licenses, Blood Tests, and Marriage Records

A blood test is required before you can receive a marriage license. To find out more, read our Marriage License and Blood Testing page.

Note: Though required by law, all marriage records are not on file with the Office of Vital Records.

Divorce Records

Vital Records does not maintain divorce records. A five-year search of the divorce indexes is available for January 1, 1926 to June 30, 1938, and for January 1, 1942 to present for a fee of $15. A five-year search is available to locate the county where the divorce was granted, the book, and the page number in the Chancery Clerk's office where it was recorded. The Chancery Clerk's office will need to be contacted directly in order to obtain a certified copy of the divorce decree.

Note: Though required by law, all divorce records are not on file with the Office of Vital Records.
