Music Festivals in Clarksdale

Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival
This three day festival held every August is celebrated for the authenticity with Mississippi's musical heritage being the centre of attention. Featuring live music from local and national blues & gospel artists, this festival also offers lectures and seminars about music and its roots. Admission is free.

Cathead Mini Festival
A free day-long festival following on from the Sunflower River Blues Festival in August featuring blues entertainment under tents in front of the Cat Head Blues & Folk Art store. This event also takes place in April and October.

Juke Joint Festival
Heralded as "half blues festival, half small-town fair and all about the Delta," Clarksdale's Juke Joint Festival features free music by over 40 blues acts on stages spread throughout downtown as well as free family-friendly daytime entertainment including racing pigs, a rock wall, a Segway course, storytelling, documentary films and even monkeys riding dogs. Blues acts include Honeyboy Edwards, Homemade Jamz, Cedric Burnside, and Super Chikan, just to name a few. Don't miss the Cat Head Mini Blues Fest on Sunday and The film "M for Mississippi: A Road Trip through the Birthplace of the Blues.

Music Festivals in Greenville

Mississippi Jazz & Heritage Festival
Enjoy an evening of jazz performed by Mississippi's Jazz Legacy and Greenville's own jazz musicians held every August in Greenville MS. With food, drinks, live entertainment and free admission.

Delta Blues & Heritage Festival
The Delta Blues & Heritage Festival began in 1977 and is now one of the largest blues music festival in the Delta. Held on the third Saturday in September every year, this delta blues festival features artists from near and far. Visit www.deltablues.org for further information.

BB King Homecoming Festival
Each year the BB King Homecoming Festival attracts thousands of people to the town of Indianola, on the bayou. The crowds enjoy music performed by BB King and other musicians, long with food, drink and fireworks.

Music Festival in Tupelo

Elvis Festival
Also every June, Tupelo, the hometown to the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley, pays tribute to him at the Elvis Festival. With music, food and fun on the streets of downtown Tupelo featuring blues, country, roll and roll, Elvis tribute artists and alternative rock.

Music Festival in Biloxi

Gulf Coast Carnival Association Mardi Gras
The Gulf Coast Carnival Association traces its roots back to 1908 every February, and Biloxi's first Mardi Gras parade. Today the Carnival Association continues the tradition with King D'Iberville and Queen Ixolib reigning over two parades in Biloxi Mississippi on Fat Tuesday.

Music Festival in Oxford

Double Decker Arts Festival
Taking its name from the town's authentic double decker bus imported from England in 1994, the festival brings together visitors and residents alike for a daylong celebration of music, food, and the arts held on the picturesque Courthouse Square in Oxford Mississippi every April. Guests mingle with painters, potters and woodworkers and enjoy an eclectic blend of music including jazz, funk, blues and rock 'n' roll, all while sampling entrees from unique Southern chefs.
